Tarhan said that this situation caused a traumatic effect on the child. Prof. dr. Nevzat Tarhan said, “Just as a bullet wound does not fully heal on the body and leaves a scar, sexual neglect and abuse experienced by the child has the same effect. It creates a traumatic effect. When you look at it, the abuse in this direction is usually done by the first degree relative. The child perceives this as a show of love. This is bleeding into society moment wound. Here, parents have important duties regarding education. Parents should be able to provide the necessary education to their children. "The wrong attitude of the parents can lead the child to abuse," he said.
The risk of substance use in the child of the relevant parents is low Emphasizing that it will deter its use, Prof. Dr. Nevzat Tarhan said that when looking at addiction risk groups, they saw that the risk included children with weak family ties. The role of the mother is important between the ages of 0-6
Pointing out that the age of 0-3 is very important in child development, Prof. Dr. Nevzat Tarhan said that nothing can replace a mother in this age range.
Prof.Dr. Nevzat Tarhan said: “Nothing replaces a mother between the ages of 0-3. A stable, safe relationship with the mother is very important in the child's spiritual and physical development. The child's basic knowledge about life is love, values, secure attachment, self-expression, etc. It is learned between the ages of 0-6. In other words, it is learned from the mother or the person who replaces her. Taking good care of the child may not be enough. For example, although children are well cared for in nursing homes, it is observed that they have insecure attachment problems. Those children can experience sudden deaths.”
