Eyelid Surgery
Excess skin and fat on the eyelids make the person look tired and old. In aesthetic eyelid surgery, excess skin, fat and muscle tissue on the eyelids are removed. This operation does not affect darkening and wrinkles around the eyes. With this operation, the fat that causes bags in the lower eyelids is removed.
While this operation can be performed alone, it can be combined with eyebrow lifting and face lift operations. This operation is performed on men and women who do not have serious systemic diseases and have realistic expectations. People whose eyes appear squinty due to sagging skin on the upper eyelids benefit from this operation.
In people who have bags on the lower eyelids but also have hollows under the bags, the fat is not removed but moved towards the hollow areas. Care should be taken when performing this operation on patients with hyperthyroidism, diabetes, dry eye disease, and eye hypertension. You should not be using medications that will increase bleeding before the operation. This operation can be performed with limited anesthesia. General anesthesia may be preferred in patients with very low pain threshold. Relaxation with sleep-inducing drugs can be added to local anesthesia.
The scars in aesthetic eyelid surgery are so small that they cannot be noticed even if you look very closely. After removing the increased muscle and skin, it is possible to lift the eyebrow with the same scar. To obtain a more aesthetic appearance, the outer edge of the eye can be moved higher. To reduce swelling, bandage and cold application are applied with wet cotton for the first 2-4 hours. In the first week, the head should be above body level. It is possible to leave the hospital on the same day or 1 day later. Stitches are removed after 4-5 days. 10-15 days after the aesthetic eyelid operation, most of your wrinkles will disappear and you can return to your social activities.
