Beware of Nose Bleeding

Nosebleeds are often annoying. However, sometimes it is frightening and life-threatening. Experts divide nosebleeds into two groups. Anterior nosebleeds are bleeding from the front of the nose. It manifests itself as bleeding from the nostril in a standing or sitting person.
Posterior bleeding: It is bleeding from the back of the nose. Bleeding is towards the nasal cavity. Bleeding occurs towards the throat even when sitting or standing. When the patient lies on his back, bleeding may occur in both directions, even if there is anterior bleeding. It is very important to recognize posterior nosebleeds. This type of bleeding requires follow-up by a specialist. Posterior hemorrhages occur mostly in older people. This patient group is generally people with high blood pressure or people who have experienced trauma. Nosebleeds are generally of the anterior bleeding type in the pediatric age group. Crusts seen in dry weather or winter months cause bleeding. To prevent this, it will be useful to apply a moisturizing cream to the middle part of the nose with your fingertip.
Creams such as Vaseline can be used for this purpose. It is recommended to use three times a day. However, it is sufficient to apply it before going to bed at night.
If nosebleeds recur frequently, it is beneficial to see your doctor.
STOPPING FRONT BLEEDING
If you or your child has frontal nosebleeds, do the following:
Press the soft part at the tip of the nose with your thumb. Take it between your other two fingers.
Press the nose towards your face with the nose pinched with the finger.
Wait like this for five minutes. (Keep a watch.)
Be careful to keep your head higher than your heart. For this reason, it is recommended that you sit or lie down with your head higher. Apply ice to your nose and cheek. (By filling a plastic bag with ice.)
PREVENTING RE-BLEEDING AFTER THE BLEEDING STOPS
Be careful not to blow your nose.
Do not lift anything heavy from the ground or make similar forced movements.
Make sure to keep your head from your chest. Try to keep it higher.
IF BLEEDING OCCURS AGAIN
Clean out all clots in the nose by blowing your nose.
Spray decongestant nasal spray into both nostrils 3 or 4 times.
Repeat steps 1 and 1 at the beginning. Press firmly on the nose as in step 3.
Call your doctor.
WHEN SHOULD WE CALL THE DOCTOR OR CONTACT THE EMERGENCY SERVICE?
If bleeding does not stop or tends to bleed again;
If fatigue and weakness are felt due to bleeding.
/> If your bleeding is towards the back of the throat rather than the front of the nose.
