APPETITE/INSATITISM is the manifestation of HUNGER. So what are we hungering for? I wonder what makes the people of this century become a 'Consumer Society'? What kind of relationship do your spiritual/emotional states have with our appetite?
In a study in Switzerland, our Emotional, Physical, Mental and Sexual hungers were evaluated and it was seen that they stimulate the same centers. Three groups were created that did not eat for a certain period of time, practiced sexual abstinence and did not talk to anyone. Afterwards, the same center of the brain was stimulated. When the things that were taken away were returned, the hunger center of the brain returned to normal. When we think we are hungry, let's stop for a moment and listen to ourselves. Are we really hungry because we are hungry? Do we need a nice chat with our family? Or do you want the warmth of your partner? Do we isolate ourselves from everyone, including our closest ones? The best part is, are we really hungry? Afterwards, we should focus on whatever we need. If we start eating whenever we want; We cannot satisfy our hunger because we do not give our body what it wants. We must learn to listen to ourselves and include this in our daily routine; Let's reach inner serenity/peace. We should make it a habit to listen to ourselves by leaving aside the daily work/stress of our lives for at least 5 minutes in the morning, noon and evening. Introducing 'breathing exercises' (maybe yoga) into our lives will bring many benefits as well as relaxation. First, let's take a deep breath, hold it in as long as we can, and then exhale slowly. Let's continue taking these breaths for 5 minutes. Our goal (but don't do it, all exercises have a goal) should be: inhale for 5 seconds - hold for 10 seconds - exhale for 20 seconds. Another thing we can do is a 'sincere prayer'. Prayer gives people peace of mind, with the confidence of relying on a being far superior to humans. We should take advantage of prayer opportunities after our prayers or at night. Remembering the verses 'Your Lord has not abandoned you, nor has He become angry with you', 'Your Lord will not waste His servant'; If we talk to Allah with our prayers made in trust in the Lord; While we reach peace, we also get rid of our hunger. In addition, we strengthen our relations with our close circle. Let's criticize and make it a habit to express ourselves. Like every beautiful thing, our emotions become more beautiful and increase as we share them. The opposite is also true. Ugly things decrease as they are shared. A small footnote: If ugly things are not shared, they make the person holding them ugly.????
I would like to close the subject with a rough observation. If a person is always hungry and cannot get enough; Spiritual-Emotional Hunger, if one wants to eat something even though he/she is not hungry; Hunger due to vitamin-mineral-valuable nutrient deficiency, feeling hungry within a short time (2-4 hours) after meals; Hunger due to excessive consumption of simple sugar should be considered and precautions should be taken accordingly.
