Pronunciation and Phonology Test is a norm-based standardized test that aims to evaluate the differential diagnosis of pronunciation problems and speech disorders such as difficult to understand speech in children aged 2-8 years. It gives information about the dimensions of development.
WHAT ARE THE OBJECTIVES OF PHOTOGRAPHY AND PHOTOGRAPHY TEST?
Pronunciation and phonology test:
-
Detecting vocalization disorders,
-
Detecting consistent and/or inconsistent error patterns,
-
Delayed phonetic development to follow the steps,
-
Determine the differential diagnosis for phonetic errors,
-
Determine the child's speech intelligibility as a percentage,
-
It is aimed to identify the sounds that the child produces incorrectly and/or incorrectly and then to include them in the therapy program.
VOICE AND SOUND KNOWLEDGE WHAT ARE THE SUB-TITLES OF THE TEST?
Pronunciation and Phonology Test consists of three subtests. These subtests are:
-
Pronunciation Screening Subtest (SET) ,
-
Auditory Discrimination Subtest (IAT),
-
Phonological Analysis Subtest (SAT) in 3 different It consists of a scale.
Pronunciation Screening Subtest
It is a subtest used to measure the articulation proficiency of phonemes through picture naming.
There are 24 phonemes in total in Turkish, in single, two, three and polysyllabic words, in different positions as syllable-beginning-word, beginning-word-in-word, syllable-end-in-word and syllable-end-word end. .In this subtest, the therapist shows the child pictures and asks the child to say the name of the object. According to the child's answers, the child's mistakes are determined by writing the test with IPA (Phonetic Alphabet). As a result of this subtest, the child's speech intelligibility is calculated. For example;
-
The child's saying 'worship' instead of the door,
-
Children saying bell instead of delete
Auditory Discrimination Test
Thought to have articulation and/or phonological disorders determines whether children can distinguish sound units that they cannot produce auditory-visually through picture recognition. It looks at distinguishing between picture pairs and sound unit and which sound unit is mixed with it. The child is expected to match the sound he/she hears through the picture.
Phonological Analysis Subtest
The sound units produced by the children are expected to be used in accordance with the phonological rules of the language in speech (conversation). There are pictures of 13 different themes in the test. The child is expected to explain the picture shown.
