It's not your body that's obese, but your subconscious thoughts!

The obesity problem, which is becoming increasingly widespread around the world, not only increases the risk of heart disease, diabetes, high blood pressure and stroke. Research shows that obesity increases the risk of cervical, breast and colon cancer, especially in women.

Obesity, defined by the World Health Organization (WHO) as excessive fat accumulation in the body that impairs health, is a global health problem that alarms the whole world. In fact, it is now considered a disease. According to WHO's research, while the number of people who were obese was 400 million in 2008, this number is expected to be 700 million in 2015.

In Turkey, a study conducted by the Ministry of Health on 15 thousand 468 individuals in 7 provinces in 7 regions. According to the research "Let's eat healthy, protect our hearts", the prevalence of obesity in men was determined as 21.2 percent. This rate was found to be 41.5 percent in women.

The cause of obesity..

Although the most important causes of obesity are malnutrition and lack of physical activity. The real reason is hidden in our brain, that is, in the functioning of our subconscious.

Our mind processes the information it receives both consciously and subconsciously. Consciousness is the part of the mind that makes up approximately 1 percent, reasoning, comprehending, criticizing and judging. Our subconscious is the side of our brain that we are not aware of, making up 99 percent of it. Many people think the 1 percent is a chef. If so; Would doctors smoke or be overweight even though they knew the harms?

The real chief is the subconscious. It is not enough for the consciousness to just know, the subconscious also needs to be convinced. We all know that we need to exercise and eat healthy for our health, but we cannot. Because knowing is not enough, it is necessary to find mistakes in eating behavior through subconscious studies and convince the subconscious. Otherwise, everything will be temporary, you will lose weight but gain it again, which is very harmful.

Our emotional and spiritual needs actually lie behind uncontrolled eating. Negative emotions such as stress, tension, anxiety, guilt and anger can cause overeating. You may be trying to suppress these negative emotions by eating. On the other hand, the pleasure of eating It is a positive thing and we have positive memories about it in our subconscious since our childhood. For example, birthdays mean fun, cake and food for many of us. In this case, the subconscious mind tries to experience these moments more often, to please the parents and not to make them angry. Or, as a response to the feeling of worthlessness within him, he says, "Since you feel worthless and you don't like yourself, let me help you too," and makes you eat wildly, making you fat. He remembered what his mother said to him when he was very sick when he was about 10 years old: "Didn't I tell you that if you don't eat well, you will get sick and die?" Our subconscious exists to keep us alive. Conclusion; My client became fat when the thought that if I didn't eat, I would die settled in his consciousness.

Again, while working with a patient of mine who was overeating chocolate, he remembered his father bringing chocolate to him when he came home late from work and hugging and caressing him. He associated chocolate with father's love and being safe, and when he didn't feel safe, he craved chocolate.

Sometimes, I have many patients who had gastric band surgery to lose weight but are still overweight. When they realize that the problem is not in the stomach, but in the brain, that is, in the subconscious, they begin to lose weight rapidly.

I think metaphorically, the subconscious needs to be handcuffed, not the stomach. In fact, in subconscious imagery exercises, I make my clients imagine their stomach shrinking like an air-filled balloon deflating when its mouth is opened, and that they feel full immediately even when they eat very little. In addition, my job becomes easier when I subconsciously realize the meaning of overeating and fast eating.

So what should we do?

Supporting healthy eating habits with exercise will accelerate your weight loss, but the most important thing is. is to solve the problem fundamentally, that is, subconsciously. If we don't drain the swamp, mosquitoes won't disappear. Therapy can only be achieved by convincing the subconscious and changing its beliefs. Instead of changing external conditions, we have to change our inner beliefs. As Mevlana said: “You are nothing but thought, the rest is flesh and bones. You think of a rose, you become a rose garden, you become a thorn. You think, you become a thorn.''

If we fill our subconscious with positive thoughts and emotions, we can turn illness into health, unhappiness into happiness, and failure into success. By taking 15 minutes for yourself, you can do what I call "Subconscious Change Work":

Determine the belief you want to change and the belief you want to replace, and without moving your head, just look with your eyes, before blinking between your eyebrows. Look at it for 10 seconds and say "comfortable, more comfortable" in your mind or out loud as you exhale. Then, without turning your head, just look at the upper left with your eyes. Thus, you communicate with your subconscious. Say positive thoughts, for example, "I'm eating little by little" or "I'm getting down to my ideal weight." once in your mind or out loud. When you finish your sentence, tap the top of your left hand once with the index finger of your right hand. Say the affirmation again without changing your gaze towards the upper left direction and tap your hand with your finger again. Repeat this process at least 40 times. During this exercise, keep your eyes always looking at the upper left corner. If your eyes get tired, you can blink, but continue looking at the upper left corner. Do this exercise for 21 days without skipping a day. Remember that if you skip, you will have to start from the beginning. When the 21 days are over, it will be enough to look at the upper left corner once a day, hit your hand with your finger and say affirmation once. You can work with more than 1 negative belief a day. However, remember that you need to work with each of them for 21 days. Of course, if you work with a Hypnotherapist, the change will be faster and more permanent.

Hope you get down to your ideal weight by knowing and managing your subconscious better...
