WHY IS PERIOD IRREGULARITY IMPORTANT?

When it comes to menstrual irregularity, situations where menstruation is shorter than 21 days and longer than 35 days, menstrual bleeding is less than 2 days and longer than 7 days, and there is excessive bleeding or very little bleeding should come to mind. There are many reasons for this. The most common causes are hormonal reasons, as well as uterine polyps, myomas, adenomyosis, spirals, inflammations, cancers, ovarian cysts, polycystic ovarian disease, breast milk discharge, and goiter. Changes in mood (excessive joy, sadness) may disrupt the menstrual cycle. The menstrual cycle of patients who have their first menstrual period and have just stepped into puberty may not be regular for up to 2 years, but intervention should be performed when excessive bleeding occurs. However, menstruation occurring after menopause is a condition that needs to be examined more closely because it should be investigated with suspicion of cancer. After examination, ultrasound and, if necessary, hormone analysis, the cause of menstrual irregularities is determined and treatment planning is made. Treatment can often be done with medication, but sometimes surgical interventions may be required. Therefore, it is a condition that needs to be investigated due to the risk of menstrual irregularities, excessive bleeding, child problems, inguinal back pain and cancer.
