PREGNANT WOMEN ARE AT RISK OF VARICORES

Cardiovascular Surgery Specialist Prof. Dr. Ali Sarıgül stated that pregnant women may develop varicose veins due to difficulty in blood circulation due to increased intra-abdominal pressure.
Cardiovascular Surgery Specialist Prof. Dr. Ali Sarıgül said that varicose veins are swelling of the veins in people's legs due to valve insufficiency and said: "The most common cause of varicose veins is genetic factors. On the other hand, standing too long is among the causes of varicose veins. In particular, these are also called barber and hairdresser's disease. On the other hand, varicose veins may become evident due to difficulty in blood circulation due to increased intra-abdominal pressure during pregnancy,” he said.

Prof. Dr. Regarding the symptoms of varicose veins, Sarıgül said, "The most common complaints about varicose veins are pain in the legs and swelling due to standing for too long. Apart from that, there may be cosmetological complaints that occur mostly in women. This appearance does not create a pleasant appearance on the legs." Explaining that varicose veins are not a disease to be afraid of, Sarıgül said, "The important thing is to get treatment in time. If the varicose veins are not treated and the varicose veins progress, blood accumulates in the feet due to standing for too long, causing a number of problems that occur in later cases, which we call varicose ulcers." The wounds are opened. As treatment, we recommend compression stockings if the insufficiency is minimal. Our subsequent treatments include open or closed surgical techniques. In the open surgical technique, we find and remove that vein through small incisions both on the foot and in the groin area. In the closed technique, we remove the new vein with laser or some medications. Treatments can be carried out using bonding methods. "In addition, varicose veins can be treated by injecting a vein adhesive into the vein with needle therapy," he said.
