Until they met EMDR therapy…
Kaith and Geoff Mercer are a couple who will celebrate the 45th anniversary of their marriage. To celebrate this anniversary, they will throw a party with their close friends. A few days before the anniversary, Geoff receives a letter from Germany. He received news that his girlfriend Katya, who he lost in an avalanche accident 50 years ago, had been found. He goes through a terrible shock with this news. He remembers Katya 50 years ago, the 3 weeks they spent in the Alps in Switzerland, how he lost Katya at the end of these 3 weeks, down to the accessories Katya was wearing that day. Kaith is surprised at how strong her husband's memory is. Normally, Geoff has been a husband to her who even forgets her wedding anniversaries and birthdays. Now Geoff remembers everything as fresh as if it were yesterday. Kaith and Geoff never had children. Geoff opposed this by attaching some negative meanings to the concept of having children. One day, after receiving a letter, Kaith decides to unpack the suitcases of Geoff, who spends a lot of time among old paintings in the attic. Katya is in some of the photos he sees. Katya is pregnant. She is carrying Geoff's child. Probably just before the accident. Kaith gets a huge shock. Afterwards, he wanders around like a ghost at the anniversary party. In fact, Geoff never stopped loving Katya. Kaith only served as a band-aid to cover the wound of losing Katya. Even the fact that they did not have children is because of Katya, who hid behind 45 years. So why did all this happen to Kaith? Yes, this can only be read as a twist of life that happened to Kaith, but there is a great truth. If Geoff had been able to mourn the loss of Katya, if he had been able to say goodbye to Katya in his psychological world, he would have been able to look forward and not have lived a futile life of pretending to be a happy wife for 45 years. Of course, the only way to do this was to mourn Katya's loss, leave her behind, and move on with her life. Life is full of many bittersweet surprises. The manifestations of regrets and past regrets experienced in the movie "45 Years" may haunt us. Sometimes Kaith Just as it happened to us, negative events happen to us no matter what we do. It may not be possible for us to experience all this inside ourselves and leave it behind. However, there is a psychotherapy method that promises us that we can leave the painful events of the past behind: EMDR. With the EMDR technique, it is possible to permanently get rid of the emotional damage caused by the events you have been exposed to in the past, witnessed or unintentionally caused.
The EMDR technique promises you a permanent recovery, not a temporary relief. It does this by taking the emotional burden off your back, not the events themselves. Come and leave the past in the past through EMDR. Spend the rest of your life in peace and happiness with your loved ones, free from the wounds and heavy burdens of the past.
