PANIC SEIZURES AND PAN
Is a panic attack a gift from the unpredictable mythological god Pan to us helpless people, or is it due to the intense stress we experience and the troubled relationships of the complex modern society? We do not think that Pan, the true symbol of nature, can enjoy modern social life very much. On the other hand, Pan's unstable and spontaneous joy-anger does not make us think of the sharp ends in our creation.
According to ancient Anatolian mythology, Pan was considered the mythological god of small and bovine animals, the shepherds who herded them, nature and the countryside. Its feet were in the shape of a goat's feet, with a goat's tail, a goatee's beard and horns. He sang pleasant melodies with his pan flute. All the fairy girls, who heard this beautiful music, danced happily in the countryside, and they cheered the place where they were by accompanying this beautiful music with their enchanting voices. Passers-by were also ecstatic and delusional. While Pan was in a very cheerful and active mood, he would sometimes suddenly become malicious and frighten those who were left alone in a place by humming and rustling. A suddenly falling stone, a shadow appearing between the rocks, a stir in the grass and bushes were thought to be Pan's presence. In this case, suddenly, for no reason, animals, even people, experience heart palpitations, shortness of breath, difficulty in swallowing, as if they were pouring hot water over their heads, sweating, their whole body numb from head to toe, nausea and great distress and discomfort. Along with the feeling of helplessness, they wanted to flee from there in terror with the fear of fainting, going crazy and death. Here is panic disorder, which takes its name from this mythological god, with people's fear of death (with accompanying bodily symptoms); with concerns such as avoiding crowded, areas where no big exit can be found, and not being alone; At that moment, thoughts such as that he may die, lose his mind, have a stroke or a heart attack, may lead him to apply to the emergency services of hospitals.
If you are experiencing symptoms like this and these symptoms shorten your life If jumping interferes with your daily functioning, you may have panic disorder. If you do not want to go to the emergency departments of hospitals in the middle of the night and receive unnecessary treatment, start treatment with a psychiatrist. Let your fears and troubles brought by Pan disappear, and the joyful melodies of Georghe Zamfir's beautiful pan flute, not Pan's, brighten your day. /p>
According to ancient Anatolian mythology, there were many gods on earth. They were responsible for various natural events or the control and behavior of animate and inanimate beings. According to the belief, these gods were in human form and they also interacted with humans. I will tell you the mythological story of Narcissus, the source of the word narcissism.
Echo, a very beautiful fairy girl who ignores those who fall in love with her and leaves them unrequited, one day sees a hunter hunting. This hunter named Narcissus is very handsome. Ekho falls in love with this young hunter at first sight, but Narcissus cannot return this love and walks away from the fairy girl. In the face of this situation, Echo melts day by day and dies by closing himself in with dark love. The bones left over from his whole body turn into rocks, and his voice turns into echoes that we call "echo" in these rocks. The gods sitting on Mount Olympus are very angry at this situation and decide to punish Narcissus. One day, Narcissus, who was in search of prey, came to a riverside, thirsty and exhausted, and when he bent down to drink water from there, he saw the beauty of his own face and body reflected in the water. He too is fascinated by this beauty that he had not noticed before. He can't get up, he has fallen in love with himself. He loved his own image as much as he had ever loved anyone else. He stays there, can neither drink water nor eat, just like Echo, Narcissus begins to melt day by day and consumes his life just by watching himself. After he dies, his body turns into daffodil flowers. This is how people with narcissistic personality disorder fall in love with themselves, always want to be at the forefront and most popular, and cannot show the necessary attention to the thoughts or wishes of others. It is the same when they cannot achieve their plans and goals, and when they do not receive the necessary attention. They melt and collapse like Narcissus.
INCEST RELATIONSHIP THE HERO AND OEDIPUS PHENOMENA IS THE SUBJECT OF MYTHOLOGY
Oedipus, who wanted to escape from the bitter fate prepared by the gods, but could not escape Again, they suffered the wrath of the gods for living. The story of Oedipus, which is the source of inspiration for modern psychiatry, remains important in discussions today.
The king of Thebai city Laios did not have a child. When the king went to consult the god Apollo, he was shaken by Apollo's response: "You will have a son, but this child will kill you in the future, marry the queen (his mother) and everyone will be unhappy". After a while, the queen became pregnant and gave birth to a son. The king gave the order to have this boy killed. The queen persuaded the executioner to leave the child in a remote and secluded place. Thereupon, the executioner hung the baby from a tree by its feet. The shepherds passing by saved the boy. These shepherds, who were under the command of the king of another city, brought the baby to the palace of another city. Since the queen of this city has no children, she decided to take this baby and raise it. The queen named her Oedipus (skewered foot) because the baby's foot was hurt and swollen by the effect of the rope on which it was hanging. When the boy grew up, he learned from those around him that he was not the real son of the king. Thereupon, he went to Apollon and wanted to learn the accuracy of the news and the situation that awaited him in the future. Apollo told him that he would "kill his father". In order to prevent this situation, Oedipus, who fled far away from his country, unknowingly killed his own father, King Laisos, as a result of a conflict on the way.
In this period, Oedipus encountered a mythological creature who stumped passers-by by asking riddles and killed those who could not answer correctly. The same riddle was asked of him, "What walks with four legs in the morning, two legs at noon, and three legs in the evening?". Oedipus immediately replied, “Man is the being who crawls on his hands and feet in the morning, that is, in the early stages of life, walks on two legs at noon of his life, when he grows up, and uses a cane as a foot in addition to his feet in the evening time of his life, in old age”. In the face of this response, the creature punishes himself with the punishment it has given to others. passed out and died. This event was celebrated with great joy. Oedipus, who defeated the creature with his intelligence, was proclaimed king in the city where he was born. Not knowing that they were mother and son, they married the queen and had four children. The gods, very angry at this situation, rained disasters on this city. There was a great drought, famine and misery. A sorcerer who was consulted attributed the reason to the murder of the new king's own father and marrying his mother. Learning the truth in great grief, Oedipus gouged out his own eyes. The angry people of the city, who were in misery, humiliated him and expelled him from the city as responsible for the disaster. His own children also turned away from the disgraced Oedipu. While Oedipus, once the king, continues his life as a beggar, only his daughter Antigone is left with him. The abandoned children of Oedipus, on the other hand, died miserably in disasters. This reflects the importance of parents' love and confirms the saying "whoever finds". According to Freud, the Oedipus complex, which takes its name from this mythological story, is used to explain the behavior of boys between the ages of 4-5, seeing the father as a rival and being the mother's favorite.
