Causes of Neck Pain

Neck pain is the most common condition after low back pain. The source of chronic neck pain sometimes cannot be detected despite today's technology. The causes of neck pain may be due to rheumatism. In addition, it may have mechanical, postural, chronic and muscular (muscle tissue) origins.

We can collect the causes of neck pain under four general headings;

  • Neck pain caused by biomechanics:

  • Rheumatological causes:

  • Metabolic causes:

  • Various other causes:

  • People who complain of neck pain can generally complain of the same type of pain in other parts.

    The common feature seen in a large proportion of patients experiencing neck pain is that they experience stress in their daily lives.

    Although neck pain is not one of the causes, it has also been determined that women, as a gender, complain about this problem more.

    When looking at the factors that may cause pain, it is seen that people with smoking habits and alcohol consumption experience more problems. The age and weight of the person experiencing the problem are also factors that may affect the pain.

    The most obvious cause of pain is physical wrong movements. Chronic pain becomes more of a problem.

    Rheumatic evaluation and treatment are also very important in neck pain of rheumatological origin.
