Pain caused by muscles and ligaments that attach muscles to bones is called soft tissue rheumatism.
What is Soft Tissue Rheumatism?
Muscle strains, tension-related contractions, long-term incorrect sitting, and weather changes cause the development of sensitive points in the muscles. These points cause pain. The areas between the neck and shoulders, the nape, the areas near the scapula, and the muscles extending from the neck to the waist are the most frequently involved areas in the formation of sensitive points. Pain triggered by these areas is called fibromyalgia. These pains last for years with exacerbations.
Massage as a treatment provides temporary relief. Muscle relaxants and antidepressant drugs are of great benefit in the treatment of soft tissue rheumatism. Success in treatment is also achieved with injections made into sensitive, trigger points.
