Migraine Treatment with Botox

Migraine has increased significantly among headaches in recent years. Migraine is more common in women than in men. This is due to hormonal imbalance and women's sensitive and emotional nature. In addition, socioeconomic status, obesity and unbalanced nutrition are other factors that affect stress. Migraine occurs at a young age. The most common age range is 18-45 years old. However, migraine is also seen after 45.

Migraine varies from patient to patient. If the patient's attacks continue and become more frequent despite preventive treatment, chronic migraine treatment is started. The effective and current treatment for chronic migraine is botox treatment. The aim is to reduce the activity of the muscles by injecting the substance we call botox toxin into the muscles. When the activity of the muscles decreases, the pain also decreases. In Botox treatment, toxin is injected into the tense muscle groups at a total of 31 points in 7 different regions. The treatment is applied by injecting a more concentrated amount into the more tense muscle groups, while a smaller amount is injected into the less tense muscle groups. This treatment is applied every 3-4 months. It is applied in cures varying between 3-5 cures. This treatment is not applied to every migraine patient, but only to chronic migraine patients.
