Life Begins with Yourself

We often hear the phrases 'Love yourself', 'Those who do not love themselves cannot love others', 'Everything starts with yourself' in the office of wisdom. However, sometimes we have no idea how to implement self-love.

Self-love begins with a sense of responsibility, and this feeling has two aspects. First, our responsibility to ourselves; Second, our responsibility to the environment.

Our responsibility to ourselves, to live our own potential in its mental, physical and spiritual dimensions;

Mentally, we now know that intelligence has different It has dimensions and American psychologist Howard Gardner has revealed these dimensions as logical-mathematical, visual-spatial, verbal, musical, existential, kinesthetic, internal, natural and social intelligence with his Multiple Intelligence Theory. By engaging in activities that support all intelligence dimensions, we do justice to the potential of our mind. For example; our musical intelligence by trying to play a musical instrument or listening to music in a concentrated manner; We develop our kinesthetic intelligence through activities aimed at our physical awareness such as sports, dance or theatre; sudoku etc. our logical-mathematical intelligence by playing games and solving numerical problems; our existential and inner intelligence by meditating; We can improve our verbal intelligence by reading books, trying creative writing or learning a new language; We can improve our social intelligence by being in lots of human relationships and different environments.

Living our physical potential is achieved by developing healthy eating and sports habits. Our body is our visible dimension and its form actually gives us clues about both our soul and our way of thinking. Learning about the benefits of healthy eating and exercising for our body raises awareness and motivates us to apply this information. Thus, we have the chance to experience the appropriate form that our body should be.

Living our spiritual potential begins with understanding that life is not just about the things we perceive with our five senses. There is a deeper subtle world and this is our source; We feed from there. Reaching that source requires quiet times. That's why one should be alone from time to time and turn inward. What he will establish between his heart and the universe one must focus on the connection, feel the whole, and be filled with source. One of the most important ways to achieve this is meditation. A person can elevate his soul by practicing the meditation he needs.

On the other hand, there is the responsibility of the person towards the environment.

Here, Developing healthy and balanced relationships with the people they interact with; He also fulfills this responsibility by protecting and taking care of the area he lives in.

Acceptance is the basis of establishing healthy and balanced relationships. Accepting people and situations as they are without judging them, trying to understand them with high empathy even if they do not suit us, and giving them the right to be themselves without imposing our own truths.

The environment we live in is where we exist. Approaching the earth, our world, with the awareness of our own home, without distinguishing between inside or outside, protecting it and taking care of it at damaged points is one of the requirements of being human.

This being the case, it is up to us to fulfill all our responsibilities. It will give us the satisfaction of being human in existence and will be reflected in the whole as loving ourselves.
