The eye is one of the most used organs in our body to perform our daily functions. For this reason, everyone should have an eye examination at least once a year. In addition, patients with Diabetes Mellitus (Diabetes), Hypertension, Rheumatic Diseases, Thyroid Diseases, Allergy, Glaucoma, Senile Macular Degeneration (SMD), Alzheimer's Parkinson, Drug Use should definitely undergo an eye examination.
1. Determination of eye number: With autorefractoceratometer measurement.
2. Measuring eye pressure (Intraocular Pressure): By tonometer measurement
3. Measuring the prescription of glasses or lenses, if any: Preliminary measurements are made with a lensmeter.
The doctor takes an anamnesis including the patient's complaints and history and performs a refraction examination and glasses and contact lens examination. Then, the General eye examination is completed by evaluating the Cornea, Lens, Vitreous, Anterior Chamber, Retina and Optic Nerve Head from front to back using a biomicroscope. If the patient has any problems, the patient is explained and directed for the necessary tests.
