Tips that can make our lives easier while living the last months of the Winter Season:
Although the days have started to get longer since mid-December, February can still be a difficult month for some of us. Fatigue, vitamin D deficiency, cold weather, and the thought that good weather is still far away can seriously negatively impact our productivity and motivation. Spending the last month of winter on a couch sipping hot chocolate and surfing the internet will not be good for either our physical or mental health. So, what can we do to feel better and increase our energy?
Act Early in the Day: This suggestion is probably the last one you want to hear, but it is one of the most effective suggestions. Waking up early and doing a light exercise will motivate us to both fight the cold and be more productive during the day. For this, it is not necessary to spend 1 hour in the gym every day. Simple and easy movements such as a short walk, using the stairs instead of the elevator, doing yoga, or jumping rope will release endorphins and thus provide a better mood. Although it is difficult to comply with this program for the first 3 days, once the body adapts to this rhythm, everything will get better.
Set Your Goals: Every morning, write down on a piece of paper what you want to do during the day. Making such a list and ticking off the items on this list as you complete them will encourage feelings of satisfaction. Don't forget to add enjoyable moments to this list to motivate you.
Learning: Winter months are the perfect time to learn new things. Are you dreaming of knitting or learning a new language? Or being able to tango? There are many free courses and videos on the internet where you can get free training. Learning new things stimulates the mind and helps combat inattention and reluctance.
Rewarding Yourself: Remember that every effort deserves reward. Don't be too hard on yourself either, as this could lead to quitting everything. If you manage to wake up early as planned, reward yourself with a carefully prepared breakfast. If you've done everything on your list, give yourself time to rest. And brace your teeth, spring is coming soon...
