Septum Deviation (Nasal Congestion)

Air going to the lungs should normally pass through the nose. Thanks to the nasal meatus, the air moves through turbulence in the nose, and with the mucus secretion in the nose, this air is humidified, heated and cleaned of particles and comes to the lungs. When the nose is blocked, air is taken from the mouth and reaches the lungs in a dry and cold form. It may cause complaints such as frequent pharyngitis and cough. Most importantly, it is the cause of snoring and not breathing comfortably may be the cause of concentration impairment, decreased performance, and physical inadequacy.
CAUSES:
Septum deviation= The formation that separates the two holes of the nose from each other, with cartilage in front and bone in the back. It is the most important cause of nasal congestion, snoring and apnea. Surgery is performed after the age of 18. Surgery is not performed because it will damage the growth points of the nose. It is a short surgery and the patient can be discharged on the same day. There is no swelling or bruising on the face. A tampon is applied into the nose. Breathing through the nose is not a luxury, it is a necessity. And this surgery allows us to breathe through the nose.
Turbinate hypertrophy= These are the meats located on both sides of the nose. They can grow and shrink reactively, depending on gravity, with medications, in cold weather and in hot weather. Inhaled air travels by hitting these flesh, so they are NEVER COMPLETELY REMOVED. Only techniques in which we remove the bone or partially reduce the meat part are used. In addition, the process of shrinking the tissue without damaging it by giving radio waves, which we call RADIOFREQUENCY, is a technique we frequently apply.
