JAW JOINT DISORDERS
Head, face and neck pain can be a symptom of many disorders. The most common of these disorders is jaw joint disorders. This definition includes jaw joint and chewing muscle disorders.
Jaw joint disease does not only concern the inside of the joint, as is thought. The symptoms of this disorder manifest themselves in a complex area including the head and neck region.
Research shows that 60% of the population has at least one of the symptoms of jaw joint disorders, and 15%< of these people. /strong> definitely needs treatment.
SYMPTOMS
Head, face and ear pain
Neck pain
Jaw joint noises
Limited mouth opening
Although it does not have any major symptoms
- Difficulty in swallowing and chewing
- Mild hearing loss
- Some dizziness as well
CAUSES
Causes of jaw pain;
- Systemic a disease,
- A neurological disease,
- Bad habits such as grinding one's teeth
- Biting a pipe
- Traumas.
TREATMENT
Treatment of jaw joint disorders is the same as in orthopedic and rheumatic diseases. The main purpose is to regulate jaw joint and muscle functions and to eliminate the causes that increase or trigger chewing disorders.
