Head, face and neck pain can be a symptom of many disorders. The most common of these disorders is jaw joint disorders. This definition includes jaw joint and chewing muscle disorders.

Jaw joint disease does not only concern the inside of the joint, as is thought. The symptoms of this disorder manifest themselves in a complex area including the head and neck region.

    Treatment of jaw joint disorders is the same as in orthopedic and rheumatic diseases. The main purpose is to regulate jaw joint and muscle functions and to eliminate the causes that increase or trigger chewing disorders.
