What Causes Weakness in the Arms?
The contents of the disc structures between the vertebrae, spinal cord or nerve roots are located. Cervical disc herniation often causes neck pain, radiating pain to the arm, numbness in the arms, as well as sensory, motor and reflex changes, called radiculopathy. .
About a quarter of the patients may develop myelopathy in which structural changes develop in the spinal cord. This situation manifests itself with signs of spinal cord damage such as weakness in the arms and legs, loss of sensation, and difficulty in walking.
Weakness in the arms may also develop in cases of cervical narrow canal and calcification.
