To Protect Our Children From The Harms Of Pesticides

Pesticides are chemical substances used in agriculture to protect plants from harmful microorganisms, that is, we can say pesticides. Even farmers call them poisons. It is also used in livestock. But today I will talk about pesticides in agriculture. On the one hand, these substances, which have become indispensable for modern agriculture, threaten human health. It causes many conditions from cancer to autoimmune diseases to infertility. Our children are most affected. Why, because the amount of exposure is increasing day by day. The amount of pesticides we are exposed to from the age of one to the age of 40 and the amount that a one-year-old child will be exposed to until the age of 40 does not seem to be the same to the detriment of the child. In our time, at least, there were wormy apples on the market. Now there are huge, huge fruits, all shiny as if they came out of the factory, without a single hole on them. We want to say that vegetables and fruits are healthy and feed them to our children. It's not real anymore in its vitamin shell, it's left in jokes, isn't it?

Although our generation had different problems in this regard. You parents remember DDT (known as Dedete), which was banned in 1987 in Turkey but whose active use ended in the 2000s.

Well, let's not be so depressing. With a few simple suggestions for the vegetables and fruits we buy, we can reduce the amount of pesticides by up to ninety percent. I talked about these today.

*To consume all fruits and vegetables that can be peeled. Of course, if they are completely organic, the shell can also be consumed. However, there are a few details here. Every word we hear about organic is not organic. Just because a product is grown in a village alone does not mean it is organic. Organic farming is something completely different and has many criteria.

*Washing in plenty of water for a long time is again a very effective method. For a while, I had a feeling that it should be soaked in vinegar water. Vinegar is very useful on its own, of course. But vinegar water does not help to remove the pesticide, even it increases its effect. Vinegar water has an effect on reducing microorganisms (such as viruses and bacteria) that the pesticides on the food cannot adequately destroy, but they are already washed well.

*Soaking in carbonated water and then it is best to wash

*Soaking in salt water and washing is also a method
