What Should We Do Today? Mischief!

Naughtiness is explained by the Turkish Language Association as the state of being naughty. Being naughty is also defined as an inappropriate behavior or news.

Have you ever thought about what words you often use to your children?

Is 'Don't be naughty!' one of them?

When children first hear this word, they probably pause and think. 'My mother and father said not to be naughty, what should I not do or what should I do? 'I don't understand what to do!'

When we give commands to our children, which usually consist of abstract concepts, the children code that behavior with that word. Therefore, mischief turns into a very large vocabulary.

Children generally become more active when they feel the need for affection, when they want to attract attention, or when they are distressed. If these actions are beyond our normal behavioral evaluations, we call them misbehavior. All parents want to have children who sit well and listen fully. In the event of a power struggle between families and children, complaints begin to arise from our children, whose actions are considered as naughty, disobedient and scolded for it. The concept that our parents sometimes forget at this point is that our children have the right to be naughty, provided that they do not overdo it within the boundaries of each family.

When parents' attitudes towards their children's mischief are evaluated, three character traits generally emerge.

The most common of these is aggressive behavior. It is taking an attitude towards the child without understanding his needs and sometimes using this attitude with the power of being an adult.

The second most common one is passive attitude. Again, it is an attitude created by remaining silent towards the child, without understanding his needs, and acting as if he does not exist, as if everything he wants is being done.

The third and less shown one is the trustworthy attitude. It is a combination of active listening, recognition, understanding and responding to the child's needs.

In our communication with our children, we clearly express what we want from them, they can express their wishes clearly, we understand them, Believe me, it is not difficult to create an environment where we can show our love as much as possible.

I wish all of us days full of love and plenty of mischief.
