Overcome Spring Fatigue by Becoming Your Own Therapist

As nature gradually begins to change its skin, many people experience somatic (physical) complaints and psychological changes called spring fatigue.

What actually happens is people's resistance to change. Until the time required to adapt to the change, which manifests itself in many different areas such as weather change, seasonal change, vegetation change, body temperature change, has passed, the person may experience symptoms such as fatigue, reluctance, appetite change, irritability, sudden emotional change due to the stress of the change.

How much these effects will be seen in someone and how much they will affect someone depends on the person's temperament and general mood.

Experiencing difficult transition periods can give a clue about the person and make the person realize that there are aspects that need to be strengthened.

The first advice I can give to people suffering from spring fatigue is; Remembering that this is a temporary period. Because sometimes people may experience deeper stress, believing that this fatigue will not go away.

TAKE CARE OF BREATHING CORRECTLY

The fuel of our body is oxygen. Oxygen is present in water and air. We all know the importance of drinking water. Correct breathing is actually something that the body needs as much as water. Therefore, it is important to fill the body with oxygen through correct breathing in order to give the body the energy it needs. For this, you can research and apply the correct breathing techniques.

There are three stages of breathing. Taking, holding and giving. Generally, since the breath holding phase is not performed, full and correct breathing does not occur. Another mistake made is to fill the air into the chest cage. The right thing to do is to fill the breath into the diaphragm. The diaphragm can be considered the second heart of the body. You can check whether your abdomen swells while breathing to see if you are filling the air into the diaphragm. When you place your hand on your belly, you should notice that your hand moves forward when you inhale and descends when you exhale. While breathing in this way, you need to count to 5, take a deep breath in slowly, hold the breath for a count of 5, and exhale slowly while counting to 5. If counting to 5 is too much at first, you can start by counting to 3.

Diaphragmatic breathing and focusing on the breath and focusing on the breath and moving away from other thoughts has healing and facilitating power for many problems such as coping with stress, exam anxiety, sleep disorders.

If you have difficulty focusing your attention on the breath; close your eyes. Imagine that you are in a white room, and as you breathe in, blue balloons filled with cold air begin to appear in the room. Imagine that you inhale the blue balloons and the cold air hits your nose walls. As you exhale, imagine the blue balloons turning into red balloons filled with hot air. Thus, both your body, which is filled with the right breath, and your mind, which is free from stressful thoughts, will lighten and heal you.

SPRING CLEANING IS IMPORTANT

Another thing that has settled in our culture and is identified with spring is spring. is cleaning. The purpose of spring cleaning is to get rid of excess items, clean and remove those that are not suitable for the season, and make the living space functional. It is possible to compile and collect psychological processes for the same purpose.

If the past is present, we need to say goodbye to it just as we greet it. First accept your resentments, your losses, your mistakes; Then separate yourself from the past, thinking that you have gotten everything you can from negative experiences. If it is difficult to do this mentally, use the power of writing. Write an article about your past experiences. I am sharing an example for you.

“I am done with my anxiety about the future, I have learned what I can learn from you. I have learned to take the precautions I can to ensure that my future is not full of surprises. I'm letting go of my worries now, you can leave me. I'm done with the part of me that doesn't trust people. Thanks to you, I can analyze people better, but now I need trust in my relationships. I let go of my insecurities and break up with him. I'm letting go of my fear of being cheated on, you've been with me long enough, you can leave now. …”

DECIDE NOT TO CONTINUE PAYING SUNKING PRICES

You can also do a spring cleaning regarding the relationships in your life. We all have people in our lives that we have worked hard for for years, these may be partners, parents or friends. After a while, we realize that the relationship is harming us just for the sake of the effort we put in. Even if we see it, we cannot break away. We call this situation “paying a sunk price”. Take a realistic look at your relationships with people in your life who you have wronged by paying a sunk price just because you left them because you worked hard and couldn't move forward.

FINISH UNFINISHED ISSUES

How did you do things in the past? And if you have a relationship that you don't know why you broke up with, or a friend that you were upset with but never told, it means that you have psychological burdens. Even though it may be difficult and unnecessary to reach those people, write them a letter they will not read, or sit in a chair and pour out your heart as if you were in front of them. Let the emotions, thoughts come out of you and allow you to finish.

HUG YOURSELF

What is applied in EMDR therapy is actually the right and left side of the body. It is to clear the trauma and place positive thoughts by stimulating it in turn. In its simplest form, you can do this by hugging yourself. Give yourself positive messages by touching your left breast with your right hand and your right breast with your left hand (hands crossed, as if you were embracing yourself), and remember your strengths.

You can do this when you feel stressed, tired or anxious.

GET INSPIRED BY NATURE…

Nature is about healing, renewal and growth. It's full of great metaphors. It is also a source of healing with its scent, colors and energy. Plenty of soil, if you can't, grow flowers in pots at home and touch the soil with your hands, take a walk, watch nature...

Being alone with nature and sharing the healing power of nature with your loved ones are both healing in their own ways.

I wish you all warm, balanced, peaceful seasons…

Let it heal.
