Although there are various methods used in the treatment of depression, the use of medication is one of the most preferred ones. However, various studies have shown that drug therapy alone does not eliminate the risk of recurrence after discontinuation of the drug. For this reason, it is also recommended that people with depression receive psychotherapy. One of the therapies used alone or in combination with medication for mild to moderate depression is Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy. With Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, in the treatment of depression, the person's cognitive processes and thought contents are examined, behavioral patterns that reinforce depression (such as social withdrawal) are addressed, and behavioral techniques ensure that the therapy is not limited to sessions.
