Labio minora (small lips) are skin fold-shaped structures located right at the entrance to the vagina. This fold of skin, which resembles the lip, covers the entrance to the vagina, appearing as a structure that acts as a barrier there. Just outside the labia minora (little lips), surrounding it, are the labia majora, which are called the labia majora and are structures with a larger volume. There is an erectile structure called clitoris on the upper part of the labia minora, which corresponds to the glans penis in men.
The labia minora have different structures, sizes and colors in each woman. Sometimes, the excessive size of this structure can both visually disturb the person and functionally cause pain during sexual intercourse. The main problem here is that during sexual intercourse, this large skin fold enters the vagina and causes pain and irritation as a result of tension and friction.
Oversized labia minora frequently lead to infection, fungal development, and especially swimwear. Wearing it can cause unpleasant external appearances in women and can negatively affect the social life of the person.
The fact that the labia minora are sometimes darker in color than the surrounding tissues can also cause dissatisfaction in women.
After the surgery, the patient is hospitalized. There is no need to sleep. Generally, our patients can return to their normal daily lives the next day and have sexual intercourse after 4-6 weeks.
Labioplasty Surgery
We usually decide which technique to apply after the examination. We perform the surgery with the technique most suitable for the patient. After the procedure, the necessary drug treatment is started for our patients and we usually call our patients for a check-up after 1 week.
Labioplasty surgery does not damage the hymen and can also be performed on virgin women. In the same session, if the patient has vaginal enlargement, loosening of the vagina, or problems such as sounding from the vagina during intercourse, or in some cases gas coming out of the vagina, we also perform vaginal tightening surgery, which we call vaginoplasty.
