Unfortunately, the two words in the title come together for the first time in Turkey. As a therapist, this makes me think a little bit, but he certainly does not believe that you are lacking; On the contrary, I believe with all my heart that you will have a different side now. Many of you have heard about occupational therapy for the first time and maybe you have tried so many things that you have just opened this article for yourself (in the name of therapy and the process) without any movement inside you and started reading this article. Curiosity is what drives you to read this text. I hope that Occupational Therapy, which has a different perspective, will give you the opportunity to answer many questions that seek answers in your mind. I wish you a pleasant reading !
Occupational therapists can help LGBTI individuals survive until the end of their lives, by connecting with the information and resources they need, by developing their skills to do the activities they want, need or expected of them, or by improving the participation of people in the activity or the environment.
Education and awareness raising is undoubtedly one of the most important issues in today's Turkey, and this is one of the parts where we see the work of occupational therapists most in the world because we know that where there is awareness, everything is a little bit. It's getting better, hope is born. The most key point about this process is our personal awareness. An individual who discovers his body and learns himself at a young age does not know how to deal with the situation. It is as if he is imprisoned in a cage and waiting, waiting, waiting to fly even in the best times of his life... A child is exposed to stigma by his friends, let alone his society. Whose body? Who does the soul belong to? Who are you?
Quite difficult questions and so special. Because we are all different, none of us has the same answer. I quite liken this part to the science of occupational therapy. Occupational therapy is personal, person-centered; to address mental, psychological, physical and social wants and needs with a holistic perspective It is the only health profession that has been recognized.
These stigmas negatively affect individuals' work-academic performance and participation in life.
Activities of daily living
Balance of rest and sleep
Education
Work-School
Game
Leisure
Social participation ,
They are very important points that determine our roles in life and create our identity, and they are specific areas where occupational therapists work. I want it to be known that if there is a problem in even one of these areas, it will actually affect other areas and cause confusion. I would like to invite you to think about this by giving a very short example. Let's imagine that the stigmas you experience prevent you from enjoying the education life you want. Not completing your education ;
How did it affect your roles in daily life?
How did it shape your life in choosing a career?
Is your education level as you wish? How does the lack of progress in your life provide a resting environment with the roles you have now acquired?
How does the state of anxiety caused by the development of other negative situations (financial, not working at the desired job) affect your sleep pattern?
Your education level How does it affect your environment and social participation?
How meaningfully do you use your free time?
I believe you can understand the balance when you answer all of them. What about your soul? How would you feel/think if you could give the answers you wanted? Occupational therapy is a very good opportunity to increase your quality of life, support social participation, and demonstrate independent participation and it is a great opportunity to meet you!
Good communication, the best contact. Understanding you is very valuable for the science of occupational therapy, as it is for every treatment. /p>
