Since the first day I started studying psychology, everyone, whether I know or not, has been asking me the same question; DO YOU THINK MY PSYCHOLOGY IS DISORDERED?
First of all, I must say that it is a good thing that you are questioning this. Usually, the person who needs to go to a psychologist may not be in the emotional state to question this. But if you question this, you may be considered to be in a better situation than those who do not question it. When you are looking for answers to the questions "Do you have a psychological disorder or should you go to a psychologist?", the first thing you will look at is functionality. Most of us are exposed to many stressful situations, both due to the country's agenda and the difficulties of our own personal lives. Therefore, it is very natural for us to have daily troubles and concerns. The key point here is to see whether these stress and anxiety-inducing situations impair your functionality or not. So, you need to look at whether stressful or anxious situations make you unable to leave the house, do work, or meet anyone.
Sometimes a person may feel bad even if he/she is functional. At this point, the thing to do is to look at the intensity and duration of the negative emotion you feel. For example; It is normal for a person to feel intensely sad and distressed after a separation, death, loss, accident or natural disaster. It is a reaction to an unfortunate event. However, if these sadness affect the person's daily life emotionally for a very long time and upset the person's morale, it may be good to consult a specialist.
There are also some psychological tests that can give an idea about the person's emotional state. These can also be applied to understand a person's emotional state, but it should not be forgotten that there is information pollution about these tests on the internet. For this reason, it would be more appropriate for an expert experienced in testing to perform these tests for you and for the test to be interpreted by the expert. The last point is the feedback the person receives from his own environment. Sometimes a person may not realize the situation he is in due to his emotions.
