Eyebrow Transplantation

Eyebrow problems may occur for various reasons such as accidents, burns, or incorrect or excessive plucking of eyebrows in women. One of the suitable alternatives to solve this problem is to restore eyebrows through hair transplantation. For this, the FUE (Follicular Unit Extraction) method is used. Individual hair follicles are removed with the help of special tools, especially from areas at the bottom of the neck that have characteristics similar to the thickness and structure of the eyebrow. There is no incision or stitching in the removed area. Afterwards, small holes are opened in the area to be transplanted with the help of special tools in accordance with the direction and angle of the eyebrows, and the prepared hair (follicular units) are transplanted there at the required density. The procedure is a daily procedure performed under local anesthesia and takes approximately 1 hour.

With just a small dressing, the donor area behind the head will be covered, and it will be possible to wash the eyebrow after a few days. Most patients can return to normal activities within a day or two. There may be crusts in the area where the eyebrow transplantation is performed within 5 to 7 days.

How is the recovery period? How much rest is required? When can you resume exercise?

After the anesthesia wears off, you will be able to go home. Your doctor will give detailed information about the points to be considered after the procedure and the medications to be used. For a comfortable post-operative and good result, it would be appropriate to rest after the procedure. There may be bruising under the eyes and it will resolve within a few days. During the first few days after surgery, there may be pain and swelling that responds to medications. Many patients can return to work within 1 week.

What are the complications of eyebrow transplantation?

Complications are rare, as in other cosmetic procedures, and infection and swelling may occur. Your plastic surgeon will give detailed information about the expected results, including possible complications.

When will we see the final results of the surgery?

Surgery results will be seen immediately after the procedure. After eyebrow transplantation, the transplanted hair falls out within 2 to 4 weeks, and the growth of permanent eyebrows begins within 8 to 12 weeks. On average within 3 months A significant amount of eyebrow growth occurs. Since eyebrows will grow, they need to be shortened at regular intervals.
