I'm dreaming of a picture in black and white. The background is white, the shapes are black.. some are more obvious, some are fainter.. then something happens, the shapes find meaning, the picture comes to life.. Just like the breath of a person who goes on a journey of awareness becomes more beautiful, it becomes more beautiful and finds color.. the journey to color becomes awareness... p>
Mindfulness is a broad topic addressed by many therapy models. It is a journey into one's own inner processes. This journey takes place on an emotional, behavioral and cognitive level, in the ‘here and now’. Awareness occurs only in the 'moment' we are in.
Awareness means 'feeling' the moment one is in. In our daily lives, we often fail to stay in the moment. For example, now close your eyes and try to imagine in detail the path you last walked. You may have overlooked or not noticed many details. This situation arises because we focus on the events we have experienced in the past or the situations we expect to exist in the future, rather than the present moment. While walking on the road, you might be thinking about the things you should do at home or what the friend you just talked to... Past experiences and future expectations have an impact on a person's behavior, but what will bring about change and give meaning to life is in the present.
Psychological growth and development can only occur in the present. It is achieved through awareness. We can improve the things we are aware of and make ourselves feel better emotionally only through awareness. Change can only occur when we realize the moment we are in with all its colors.
The therapy process is a kind of 'awareness process'. While the therapist prepares clients who come to therapy to work on awareness, they first focus on the active role they will assume in therapy. At the beginning of therapy, basic awareness concepts that clients can use in their own awareness processes begin to be taught. Since the situations existing in the internal processes of the organism are reflected externally through a number of attitudes and behaviors, a number of observations of the therapist about the client occur in therapy. The therapist and the client look at the same thing from different perspectives. When they reach the goal, this information can be used to shed light on the goal of therapy.
Awareness is the light that a person sheds on himself, and therapy is one of the best ways to reveal this light...
