What kind of diet and lifestyle should we adopt and what should we do to avoid getting breast cancer?

We now know that our lifestyle and daily diet are important in order to avoid getting breast cancer, which is an increasingly common nightmare and that there are many things we can do to avoid getting it. As with many types of cancer, in order to avoid getting breast cancer, we should stay away from a sedentary life and include sports, exercise and walking in our lives. We should never stop monitoring our weight and stay away from obesity and fat. If there is any excess weight, we should lose it as soon as possible. We should stay away from excess carbohydrates and pastries as much as possible, prefer Mediterranean cuisine, which is based on fresh vegetables and fruits, oils, and stay away from fatty fried foods and high-calorie foods. We should stay away from foods that contain additives that are harmful to health. We should have all our necessary vitamin levels measured, especially our vitamin D level, and if necessary, supplement under the supervision of a physician. We should drink plenty of water daily and get enough sleep. We should not exceed harmful levels of alcohol consumption. We should stay away from stressful, tense lives as much as possible and at least allocate sufficient time intervals where we can rest calmly. We must carefully avoid cigarette smoke and other carcinogens. We should avoid long-term use of hormonal drugs without medical supervision. We must avoid unnecessary radiation and radioactive areas. If we are going to have a child, we should not leave it to an advanced age as much as possible and breastfeed as much as necessary. We should learn to do breast self-examination and do our breast and armpit examination with courage every month, as recommended. Perhaps most importantly, we should not say that this is nothing when we detect a change, we should definitely inform our breast surgeon about any finding we suspect. Even if everything is normal, we should see a breast surgeon regularly every year and follow his recommendations. We should have periodic breast screenings, mammography, ultrasound and breast examinations, which are recommended according to our current total risk calculation according to our age, habits, family data, genetic structure, diseases and living conditions, without interruption. If our existing risks in the family, genetic test results, or our total lifetime risk of developing breast cancer are very high and we need risk-reducing drug treatments or any other treatment depending on our age. If surgical measures such as emptying the inside of both breasts are recommended, we should discuss this in detail with our breast surgeon and, if necessary, get the recommendations of breast cancer councils attended by oncologists and genetic specialists.
