What Is Done After Circumcision Care in Babies?

For post-circumcision care, baby nurses take care of the baby, and they also inform the family about this before going home and show them how to apply the creams. It is applied on the area 4-5 times a day and covered with sterile gauze against contamination or sticking. Babies are checked by the circumcised doctor on the 3rd or 4th day after circumcision. The sutures placed dissolve on their own and fall off and do not need to be removed.

Although it is a very simple and risk-free operation, there may be complications less than 1% during and after the procedure. It is performed by an experienced specialist in sterile conditions, following surgical principles. If proper care is taken after the procedure, it will be possible to avoid these rare complications. The main ones are; bleeding, infection, narrowing of the foreskin (phimosis) and skin adhesions due to insufficient circumcision. The physician approves the newborn bath.
