What is Lamina Restoration?

It is the name given to the restoration in the form of a thin layer, prepared by minimal abrasion from the front surface of the teeth in front teeth with poor aesthetics (diastema, crooked, caries, etc.). Since it is very thin, does not contain metal and transmits light, it gives excellent results that are indistinguishable from real teeth. They are prepared and placed on the teeth with perfect fit and precision. In most cases, with their solid structure and permanent colors, they are sufficient to give the teeth a natural function as well as a natural beauty. The procedure is very simple to implement and takes a short time. Laminates are bonded to the teeth with a special technique and a material called adhesive resin. As a result of the bonding process, it is not possible to separate the laminates from the teeth. That's why it is very resistant to breakage.

WHAT ARE FULL CERAMIC RESTORATIONS?

Full ceramic restorations are a type of veneers we know, prepared only from reinforced porcelain, without a metal infrastructure. The reason why full ceramic restorations are preferred is that they have higher light transmittance and are therefore more aesthetic. Since these types of restorations do not contain metal, they are visible close to the tooth and are used in aesthetic restorations in the anterior region. They are preferred in teeth that are too damaged in the anterior aesthetic area due to caries, fractures or other reasons, and in cases where lamination is not suitable. During its construction, 1.7-2 mm is removed from the entire circumference of the teeth in a painless manner. The procedure begins by removing the tooth tissue. After the main impression is taken, the temporarily prepared veneers are glued and full ceramic restorations are prepared by working on the impression taken in the laboratory. After laboratory work, the restorations are rehearsed and bonded to the tooth. Full ceramic restorations are more conservative than metal-supported restorations because they are bonded to the tooth both mechanically and chemically.

WHAT ARE ZIRCONIUM-SUPPORTED CERAMIC RESTORATIONS? IN WHICH CASES IS IT APPLIED?

In aesthetic dentistry, it has been considered to use full ceramic restorations in order to overcome the problem of limited aesthetics of metal-supported ceramic restorations in the anterior region. However, although all-ceramic restorations have high aesthetic quality, Due to their structure, ğmen cannot provide sufficient resistance on long bridges in the rear area. To overcome this problem, zirconium material has begun to be used as infrastructure. Zirconium is a white colored material with semi-light transmittance, aesthetic quality and high resistance. As a result of these features, zirconium has become the optimum choice for aesthetic bridges and posterior restorations. The construction process of zirconium-supported ceramic restorations is the same as that of full ceramic restorations.
