After Rhinoplasty Surgery; Can You Do Sports?

Nose Aesthetic Surgery, namely Rhinoplasty, is an operation that changes the external appearance of the nose in an aesthetically positive way. It is the most commonly performed plastic surgery operation.

The Art of Rhinoplasty: My Philosophy
Rhinoplasty Surgery is an operation that requires both scientific thought and an artistic (aesthetic perception) approach. . My personal opinion for nose aesthetics; All efforts should be made to ensure your satisfaction is very high by taking your face into account, trying to create a natural, fresh nose appearance (not obvious from surgery) that eliminates problems, breathing, and ensuring face-nose aesthetic integrity.

Every nose is unique. It is necessary not to push the surgical limits, to act with a conservative approach and to avoid irreversible surgical maneuvers. In principle, I consider and prefer different surgical techniques performed from inside or outside the nose according to the person's nasal structure problems.

There is no doubt that the high success of rhinoplasty results is due to advanced surgical experience and the surgeon's aesthetic perception, ensuring that patient expectations are correct. Factors such as understanding the nose have a very important place.

If the surgeon pays attention before, during and after the rhinoplasty surgery, and the patient pays attention to the given recommendations, a natural-looking, impressive nose will emerge.

After Rhinoplasty Surgery: Sports
A blow to the nose after surgery (your child's hand, your friend's arm being hit by a joke, etc.) is unpleasant. It can cause pain and, very rarely, affect the appearance of the nose. Therefore, you should be careful for 3-4 weeks. Personally, I do not prefer to make too many restrictions in daily activities.

Unless there is a special situation, I would like to answer some questions that my patients, who I say can return to work life as of the 7th day, about sports-sports activities. In the first weeks; There may be nasal congestion and swelling inside the nose, this is normal. Please remember.

First week: Very short walks (unless it is an extremely cold or hot environment) may be possible.
From the 7th day; u Long walks can be done. For the first two weeks, try not to bend your head forward (no bending like tying your shoes, to prevent increased intracranial pressure).
After the 2nd week: I also allow light jogging.
Heavy sports (weightlifting, etc.) should be avoided for 2-3 weeks.
For the first 2 months, sports that may be hit by the ball or the opponent athlete (football, basketball, kick-box, etc.) should be avoided. , it would be more appropriate to avoid it if possible.
