The word aesthetic, which we frequently use in dentistry, represents the understanding of beauty. What is the difference between aesthetic and non-aesthetic? A philosopher once said, "If what you see pleases you, it is beautiful". Beauty is not absolute and is completely subjective.
Dental aesthetics is related to visual perception. The color, contour, surface properties of the teeth, their proportion, symmetry and balance with each other and the whole face are important.
PROBLEMS IN AESTHETIC DENTISTRY;
• Coloration
• Broken or damaged teeth
• Crowded or twisted teeth
• Spacetic teeth
• A result of gingival recession
• Aged appearance as a result of wear
• White spot lesions
• Small lateral incisors.
WHITENING
It can be applied in two different ways, at home or in the practice. Teeth whitening can be applied in colorations ranging from moderate yellow-brown to light gray, tetracycline discoloration due to drug use, and superficial discoloration due to cigarette, coffee or tea consumption. It is a risky application in patients with tooth sensitivity, micro-cracked or very young teeth, and teeth with periapical disease.
COSMETIC CONTOURING

It is the correction of natural teeth with small abrasions. Correction of cutting edges, rounding of sharp corners, correction of small fractures and breaks.
DIRECT COMPOSITE BONDING APPLICATION
It is a kind of composite application made by removing minimum material from the teeth in closing small gaps, correcting crooked or twisted teeth, in cases of wear and light discoloration. Special composite materials are used for this purpose. However, since coloration may occur in the long term, it should be changed after a certain period of time according to the patient's feeding and brushing habits.
PORCELAIN VEN ERLER (LAMINATE)
It is a porcelain application performed by removing moderate material from the teeth in cases of moderate discoloration, closing the gaps in the teeth, correcting crooked or rotated teeth, and abrasion. Only the anterior surfaces of the teeth are etched and prepared in the laboratory after the measurement and applied to the teeth in the second session.
