With the opening of schools, a difficult period began for both students and parents. The chaos in the education system unfortunately causes increased anxiety in both students and parents. The exam system and homework make us, as parents, tired as much as the students. Parents are more successful than their children. For this reason, it can sometimes put pressure on children. The general belief is that working harder for the child will increase success. Success is achieved not by the duration of study, but by systematic and regular study. Accumulation of knowledge is possible with good and regular education and training. The most basic mistake is that education is only exam-oriented. The organization is designed to help children focus on success in the exam.
Parents make a lot of sacrifices for their children to be successful in school and exams. At this point, they ignore their children's individual differences and learning capacities. We know that our child will not be smarter and more successful compared to others, but we put pressure on him by giving examples of the successful students around him. In this case, our child's potential never changes; perhaps he hates working and having to earn a place even more.
The abolition of TEOG, which suddenly came to the agenda while we were focusing on the exam, caused serious confusion and uncertainty. The biggest deficiency in our country is the serious disproportion between the population and the schools where qualified education can be received. In this case, it is not an issue that can be fixed in a short time. Because education means not a building, but a significant number of qualified educators. While universities and popular high schools are limited in number and demand is high, exams are inevitable. In making this choice, what will be substituted for the exam, in fact, the exam creates equality, not discrimination.
