Childhood obesity has increased significantly in recent years. In fact, it is one of the most important public health problems of the 21st century. The incidence of childhood obesity in our country varies between 6.5% and 15.4%. Genetic factors, sedentary lifestyle and diet are among the main causes of obesity. Apart from these well-known reasons, parents' feeding styles and children's eating behaviors also play an active role in the development of obesity in children. Abnormal eating attitudes and behaviors are accepted as the strongest and most reliable predictors of eating disorders that occur in the later period. It has been determined that children's eating behavior patterns and food choices are formed in the first 2 years of life and these are associated with the development of obesity in the following years. The feeding style of the parents is closely related to the eating behavior of the children and is one of the important factors determining the eating behavior. It is stated that a virtual sense of pleasure develops and an increase in emotional eating tendency is observed in children who are given food as a reward during childhood eating education. Therefore, the rewarding method applied to children in eating education does not seem right. Again, those who investigated the factors that play a role in the development of childhood obesity have shown that parental eating habits, parental feeding styles and children's eating behaviors have an important place in the formation of obesity. In other words, if the parents are willing and willing to eat, their children are often the same, or on the contrary, if the parents are not willing and willing to eat, their children may not be willing and willing. This explains the higher prevalence of obesity in children of obese parents. In the light of this information, it is important to detect eating behaviors in both healthy and obese children. Detection of behavior can be considered as the first step in preventing obesity in these children.
