The basic principle in varicose vein surgery is to eliminate the unhealthy vein that has leakage and therefore causes visible varicose veins to appear. There are two types of surgical intervention methods for this.
In the first group, there are methods in which the vein is completely removed or canceled with intravenous interventions.
Stripping is the method in which the vein is completely removed.
Endovenous treatments are treatment methods in which a catheter is inserted into the vein and the vein is closed from the inside. In intravenous steam application, endovenous laser ablation and radiofrequency ablation methods, the vein is burned from the inside and closed along its entire length. In the cyanoacrylate adhesive method, which has been widely used recently, the vein is closed from the inside along its length with the help of an adhesive administered into the vein.
In the second group, there is the method in which the vein is intervened without being removed and the vein is protected.
Ligation method is a treatment method in which the vein is preserved. Here, the vein is located at the point where the leak begins and is tied, preventing the blood from escaping backwards.
In addition to the methods listed above, the miniphlebectomy method is also applied, in which the veins that appear swollen under the skin are pulled out through a very small incision during the surgery.

Varicose vein surgeries are surgeries with a very short recovery period. Most of the time, the patient is able to continue his normal life even one day after the surgery.
