Birth Control Pill
These are preparations containing(estrogen, E2)and (PG). E2andPG have different forms depending on the differences in their content. It starts to be used at the beginning of menstruation. The method of use in most preparations is to take it every day for 3 weeks, at the same time if possible, and then take a break for 1 week. But there are also those with different usage methods.
Mechanisms of Effect
- By affecting the central nervous system, FSH and LH release is blocked and ovulation stops.
- It prevents the embryo from attaching to the endometrium.
- It reduces the cervical mucus, increases its viscosity, thus making it difficult for the sperm to enter the uterus.
- Affects tube function.
Side Effects
Mostly due toE2Mostly PG > due to what causes headache, fatigue, nausea, depression, edema, weight gain, loss of libido.
Absolute Contraindications
- Pregnancy
- Hypertension after deep vein thrombosis or embolism
- Hormone sensitive tumors
- Vascular disorder
- Diabetes Insulin user for more than 10 years
- Hepatitis and its aftermath
- Cholestatic liver disease
- Sickle cell anemia
- Unexplained genital bleeding
- Smokers over 35 years of age
Relative (imprecise) contraindications
- Advanced varicose veins
- Diabetes
- Epilepsy
- Multiple sclerosis
- Porphyria
- Lactation (milking)
- Ulcerous colitis
No significant increase in anomalies has been detected in pregnancies that were missed while using the pill.
