How Are Crowns and Bridges Made?

If porcelain is to be used, your dentist determines the correct shade for the crown or bridge to match the color of your existing tooth.
Using this mold, the dental laboratory prepares the crown or bridge from the material specified by your dentist. The temporary crown or bridge is placed in place to cover the prepared tooth until a permanent crown or bridge is made. When the permanent crown or bridge is ready, the temporary crown or bridge is removed and the new crown or bridge is glued on the prepared tooth or teeth.
