Couple-Specific Approach is Essential in Infertility

Today, one in every seven couples trying to have children encounters infertility. After one year of unprotected intercourse, 15% of couples do not achieve pregnancy, and at the end of the second year, this rate becomes 10%. Infertility rates have been increasing over the years due to changing living conditions. Increasing "maternal age" due to postponement of the desire for a baby due to education and career, negative environmental and nutritional conditions, alcohol and cigarette consumption and stress reduce fertility. It is thought that more than 10 million couples around the world will have difficulty having a baby in 2025.

Not every couple who has difficulty having a child is definitely "infertile". In some cases, pregnancy can be achieved by using very simple treatments, and in other cases, by simply motivating the couple. Of course, behind these little magical touches, there are decisions taken as a result of a very thorough evaluation of the couple.

In some couples, problems that really need to be solved are encountered, and here the knowledge, experience, and knowledge of the medical team. Sufficient technological and medical equipment opportunities are coming into play and thus many problems can be solved today.

In some of the infertile couples, a problem cannot be found and this situation is defined as "unexplained infertility". However, in reality, this couple has "yet to be explained" problems. Perhaps today's technology cannot yet explain the situation, or perhaps as the patient's treatment process progresses, the possible problem will be revealed.

In the light of the above information, it can be seen that; Every couple is unique and the basis for infertility research and treatment is the "couple-specific approach". In fact, today, the latest point in science in infertility evaluation and treatment is the fact that not only every couple, but also every cycle and even every egg and every sperm is special. That's why, in our infertility studies, we aim to have a very close relationship with our patients and get to know them as well as possible. In this way, we can provide high moral support to our patients and each other and easily maintain our sense of mutual trust during difficult processes.
