Red Room TV Series Evaluation

First of all, I would like to share the happiness I feel from the existence of series such as Red Room on TV and a few different points about the series.

First of all, Binnur Kaya plays a very critical role here, after the comedies we are used to, and when we look at the cast, we see a very solid cast.

No matter what anyone says, it is a wonderful series that shows that violence is not about women, men, children, education or status, makes people realize the cycle of violence, gives hope that we can break this cycle, and emphasizes the importance of family and family education. It's at the beginning of the episode and I wish it was placed between every movie as a public service announcement; I hope the origins of violence, the effects of psychological violence that we ignore, and the calls to stop violence will set an example for other TV series and movies.

It is very valuable that "we are human" has been emphasized very strongly since the first episodes of the series. In the series, we see therapists with different experiences, from the freshest to the most experienced, and coping with their own problems in their own world. They fall in platonic love, have problems with their family and spouse, deal with health problems, and suffer; It can happen to all of us, just like every other person. They get angry, sad, angry, ashamed; They experience emotions that every human being can experience. These do not show that we are inadequate or inadequate, but that we are human. While watching it, I wanted those who said "what kind of a psychological counselor do you have neither stress nor anger" to have watched this series. I hope this article catches your eye :) Of course, we are better at managing these emotions than other professional groups due to our field education. Sometimes the problems we experience in our own inner world may be effective in our inability to manage. At this point, we also receive supervision (For example; if we pay attention to Ms. Piraye's seeing herself in her client, Doctor Deniz's anger towards the family of the physically abused child, and the Doctor's question "Why am I angry with this girl" in his meeting with Alya? if they can show something related to their own world in the future)

In the series, the counselor's reactions (intense pitying/surprise/angry facial expressions while listening to the clients) are inappropriate to many psychological counseling processes that my colleagues, including me, find wrong and therefore criticize. Crying with the client, kicking the client out, "why" questions, leaving the crisis management to the assistant and running away, etc., and the situations of the clinical staff (the assistant interrupting the sessions, being too concerned with the client's problems, etc.) invite indirect traumas and negatively affect their psychological resilience. . As a matter of fact, this is not a TV series and a resource used in psychological counselor training (many of our teachers can show correct/wrong reactions by using sections in university courses), so it cannot be said that the psychological counseling environment is exactly the same.

On the other hand, in psychological counseling services, counselors receive training in different schools/perspectives and progress with different approaches and techniques. This does not mean that one of them is inferior to the other or that what they did was wrong. Not every counselor is the same, not every counselor may appeal to every client.

Looking at psychological counselors/psychologists/psychiatrists as "mad doctors" is becoming a thing of the past and we have started to say loudly that "we all need it". How happy! Many people have made comments like "I should talk to that doctor for a while", don't we know how much we need to be listened to without being judged or criticized? Many people have questioned their own parenting style and seen their mistakes, and in a way, this series helps us hold a mirror to ourselves. Many people have identified themselves with some characters, understood the characters, felt their pain, and it is a matter of knowing that there are other people who experience the same pain... Many people have said "I wish Meliha wasn't real", it is true, there is so much pain and hardship that we cannot bear to watch and hear it. in life.
