Balanced nutrition is essential for a healthy and quality life. The underlying causes of the diseases of our age lie in the change in diet. Cancer, diabetes and obesity are seen as the most common diseases of the 2000s. The nutritional change experienced during the development of human beings has been shaped as the age requires, some people have become more conscious, while some people have chosen unhealthy ways by keeping up with the pace of the age and ignoring the importance of nutrition.

Among the things a newborn child will learn from his family, nutrition is the basics of life. It is in the first place because of its need. In this case, the first duty of the family should be to teach their children about healthy and balanced nutrition. People who want to keep their quality of life high can say hello to a new life with a little cleaning in their refrigerators.

A nutrition program filled with balanced foods should be created throughout the day. Ideal amounts of all basic food groups should be consumed and care should be taken to drink water. In a healthy diet, 55-60% of daily nutrients should consist of carbohydrates and 12-15% should consist of protein. Diversifying vegetables, legumes and protein-containing foods in meals creates richness in terms of taking in different nutrients and meeting vitamin and mineral needs. A portion of milk group should be added to an ideal main meal. A healthy and balanced plate will be colourful, diverse and satisfying.

People who follow a daily diet that includes appropriate amounts of vegetables, fruits, legumes, bread, oilseeds, meat group and dairy group nutrients will be healthy in their daily lives. They become people who look good, are energetic, and wake up cheerful in the morning.

The pyramid in the picture is one of the best studies of the World Health Organization (WHO) to explain balanced nutrition. According to this pyramid, the foods that should be in our daily diet are listed in order from most to least. In addition to nutritional needs,WHO has also included exercise in this pyramid to emphasize the importance of physical activity. As a result, people who expect a healthy and quality life should consume a balanced diet from the food groups in this pyramid. They should consume e-food and allocate a part of their daily lives to physical activity.
