Pregnancy is the most beautiful, most unique and most valuable experience a woman will have in her life. It is the period of physiological and psychological transition from womanhood to motherhood.
The weight gain of the growing baby during pregnancy and some hormones secreted during this period create some changes in the mother's body, muscular and skeletal system. Due to increased weight and gravity, extra load is placed on the waist, back and pelvic area. For this reason, waist and back pain may be felt during pregnancy. Again, as a result of the pressure of the baby's weight on the uterus and especially the pressure of the head on the muscles that carry the uterus and genital organs, which we call the pelvic region, there may be pain in the lower region, a constant feeling of urination, and sometimes even urinary incontinence. During this period, everything is more sensitive and delicate. The body keeps edema. The woman becomes emotional. The sense of smell increases, etc. I will tell you about these another time. Let me tell you a little about pilates. Shall we? Be sure to do it! You can schedule your exercise 2 or 3 days a week. So what does this give us?
-
More comfortable birth
-
The uterus recovers quickly after birth,
-
Problems such as indigestion and edema decrease,
-
Since staying in the moment with mental awareness is achieved during Pilates exercises, it helps the expectant mother to relax mentally,
-
Thanks to the breathing exercise applied, it ensures that the abdominal muscles strengthen and recover more quickly and that the mother is less affected by the emotional fluctuations she experiences during pregnancy.
-
Thanks to the exercise, the expectant mother falls asleep more easily and therefore lives the day more energetically, fitter and motivated,
-
It becomes easier for sexual life to return to normal after birth,
-
The chest muscles, which are weakened by the effect of hormones, become stronger.
Although there is no obstacle to pilates, I recommend that you stay away if there is a threat of premature birth, cervical shortening or bleeding. I wish you all a pleasant pregnancy.
