What is unexplained infertility?

If the uterine tube film performed as part of the evaluation of couples who have difficulty in getting pregnant is normal, if the woman has regular menstruation, if there is no problem in the USG examination, and if the male sperm values are normal, this infertility is called unexplained infertility.

Infertility. Couples experiencing this problem rightly ask: If everything is normal, why can't we have a baby?

The basis of unexplained infertility may be problems at the molecular level that cannot be detected yet. For example, in order for the sperm to enter the egg and fertilize it, it must bind to the egg membrane (a molecule called Z protein is required for this binding). Hundreds of proteins, such as this Z protein, play a role in conception. Researching these hundreds of proteins is unnecessary because it is very costly. In addition, many unknown problems are overcome by vaccination and in vitro fertilization methods. For example, in in vitro fertilization, sperm is deposited directly into the egg using the microinjection method (there is no need for Z protein).

In the treatment of unexplained infertility, insemination should be done 2-3 times. The success rate of vaccination in unexplained infertility is around 20% per application. If insemination treatment fails, in vitro fertilization treatment should be started.
