The emotion, thought and bodily reaction experienced at that time, as a result of creating a traumatic effect, freezes in our minds at that moment. Although our lives continue, we experience various experiences, but when we are triggered at certain moments, we can reach emotions, thoughts and bodily reactions that we cannot understand. There are many psychological disorders and conditions that impair quality of life caused by traumas. EMDR therapy is a therapy technique that studies trauma. It reprocesses the emotions, thoughts and bodily reactions in negative moments of people by desensitizing them. The EMDR technique, which has a neurological counterpart, is a very powerful and solution-oriented therapy technique. The basis of EMDR therapy is the neurological functioning of the brain, not a strong suggestion. In cases where possible, the person should first resort to the therapy process. In the therapy process, if the person is suitable for the EMDR technique in line with the person's life history, problems and therapy goals, and if the psychologist has EMDR training, the therapy process begins. In EMDR therapy, when the person wants to work with their memories, by setting common goals with the psychologist, firstly the EMDR preparation phase and then by giving bilateral stimulus on the negative moments experienced by the person, it is among the goals to desensitize the negative emotion, thought and bodily reaction experienced by the person. The most important factor in EMDR sessions is that they are done by a competent psychologist, that the person is suitable for EMDR therapy and that the person participates in the sessions regularly.
