What is healthy nutrition?
Nutrition; It is the human being's ability to consume and metabolize the nutrients necessary for growth, development, and survival in a healthy and productive manner.
The concept of adequate, balanced, regular, in short, healthy nutrition tells us how nutrition should be. Adequate and balanced nutrition is the intake and use of nutrients such as carbohydrates, proteins, fats, vitamins and minerals in the required proportions and amounts in order to protect our health and improve our quality of life. When we eat by paying attention to this balance, we will have a healthy body and soul structure, a normal mental development, and a body that does not get sick frequently.
In our nutrition programs, taking into account the energy we spend during the day, we make a balance between food groups in appropriate proportions. We prepare our menus by distribution. The next stage is to pay attention to some points in purchasing, storage, preparation, cooking, presentation and evaluation of leftovers in order to get maximum benefit from nutritional values. Since this is a very broad subject, it would be better to include it in another article.
So, is the only contribution of such a regular and planned nutrition program to our health?
Of course, its contribution to health is undeniable, but its contribution to the individual and national economy is too much to ignore.
With the weekly menus we will prepare, taking into account the tastes of family members, you will be wondering "what should I cook today?" for the whole week. By answering the question, we will avoid buying unnecessary products and wasting them, and we will take the first step of a healthy and economical nutrition program.
Now it is time to go shopping with the material list we will create after this application...
This is the job. It usually belongs to the parents and it is a very tiring job. Here, we can help children develop a sense of responsibility by giving them small tasks. By storing food items under specific storage conditions after shopping, we can protect them from spoilage until consumption and prevent waste at this stage. Afterwards, we can continue the program by implementing the menu we have prepared as much as possible.
Finally, we can choose from the meals consumed. At the point of evaluation of the leftovers, by preserving them in containers suitable for food storage and under appropriate storage conditions, we will provide another benefit to the family and the country's economy from a broader perspective.
I wish you healthy, happy and waste-free days...
