CHEEK AND EYEBROW LIFT

Mid-face refers to the cheeks and cheekbones. If you examine the faces of young babies, you can see that their cheeks are full and tight at the level of the cheekbones. Such full and firm cheeks are an expression of youth. However, the cheeks sag downward due to the effects of gravity and aging. So much so that this sagging may now become visible enough to reveal the cheekbones. Moreover, these sagging tissues also create a fullness lower down, at the mouth level.
On a young, dynamic face, there should be a protrusion at the level of the cheekbones and a depression at the mouth level. You can compare it to a pear standing on its stem. With aging (and sometimes structurally – in young people) this pear tends to be upside down. In other words, the lower part becomes fuller as the upper tissues come down.

WHAT IS DONE IN THE SURGERY?

The surgery has many technical details. To put it very simply, what is done is to turn the pear upside down. The sagging tissues are lifted up and the fullness on the cheekbones is restored. This also reduces the expansion at the bottom and the face shape changes.

Since the cuts are made only in the mouth, where your upper lip ends and in your scalp, no scars are left. With cameras and special tools, muscles, fat packs and membranes are prepared one by one and carried upstairs to their places where they were in their 20s. Everything is done deep down and can only be seen with a camera.

IS THIS SURGERY SUITABLE FOR ME?

Look at your face in the mirror at a 45 degree angle. Under normal circumstances, it is ideal for your cheekbones to be high, at mouth level, and your cheeks to be as inward as possible. If these proportions are reversed, that is, if your cheeks are prominent but your cheekbones are flat, this surgery may be suitable for you.
This is not necessarily a surgery performed in old age. A significant portion of the patients who have this surgery are in their 20s and have congenitally sagging cheeks.

CAN THIS SURGERY SOLVE ALL PROBLEMS RELATED TO AGING?

No . This surgery only lifts the sagging midface area. carries it to the wife. If you have skin sagging or wrinkling, this problem must be resolved with a classic face lift.

COMLICATIONS AND POSSIBLE PROBLEMS

There is a possibility of serious bleeding after this surgery. almost none. Small blood accumulations (hematomas) will not cause a serious problem. Infection is one of the complications that may occur after this surgery. Since almost half of the surgery is performed through the mouth, there is always the possibility of catching germs from there. In cases of inflammation, in addition to antibiotic treatment, surgical removal of the inflammation may be required. However, if such infections are treated correctly, they heal quickly.

Asymmetry: In this surgery, one of the stitches that suspend the tissues does not do its job properly, which may cause asymmetry. In this case, this stitch may need to be placed again. Loss of sensation is also an expected problem after this surgery. Loss of sensation in the upper lip and forehead will usually disappear after a few weeks. Loss lasting for months may rarely occur. Temporary hair loss may also occur rarely. However, the hair and sensation will definitely return.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:

Is this surgery alone sufficient?

If your skin does not have excessive sagging or wrinkles, this surgery may be sufficient. However, if you have such problems on your skin, which are usually seen after the age of 50, it will be much better to have a classic face lift surgery in addition to this surgery.

Is endoscopic surgery bloodless and scarless?

No surgery can be bloodless. However, there will be much less bleeding. It would not be wrong to say that there are no scars since the cuts will be hidden in the scalp and mouth.

How many years will the effect of this surgery last?

It is impossible to say this. This is partly about your comment on this subject. Of course, it is an important factor in how you live in later years. The changes to your face with this surgery are permanent. For example, your cheeks that hang up will always remain high. However, you will continue to age and new signs of aging will appear on your face. But this surgery will make you look younger and fresher than ever.

How many years does this surgery make a person younger?

This depends on your demands. If this surgery is combined with some other surgeries, it can make you look younger by even 20 years. Although this sounds good, many people do not want to look that much younger. It is most realistic to expect to look fresher, more vigorous, more energetic and happier after such surgeries.

TIPS:

  • Look in the mirror with your hand. If you raise your cheeks, you are misleading yourself. With this movement, you also stretch your skin. However, endoscopic surgery is performed deep down and does not stretch the skin too much. Just try to think of the underlying fullness shifting upward. There is no hand movement with which you can fully experience this effect.
  • If you are over 50, I recommend you to have a classic face lift surgery along with this surgery. After an endoscopic surgery performed alone, the excess skin and sagging on your face will continue.
  • The effect of this surgery lasts for a very long time. Your cheeks will continue to sag where they left off, but do not be afraid that they will return to their previous state.

WHAT TO EXPECT YOU AFTER THE SURGERY:

The first change you will see on your face after this surgery will be swelling. Since this is not an open surgery, you will not have visible stitches, but since it is a deep procedure, it will cause some swelling.

This is not a painful surgery. For the first few days, you will lie with your head up and apply plenty of ice.
Return to work is usually possible at the end of the first week.

Cheekbones look swollen as they are in the first few weeks. Usually, in the second or third week, you will breathe a sigh of relief as you see that the edema has resolved.
