- ADVANTAGES OF CIRCUMCISION WITH LOCAL ANESTHESIA
1- One of the debates today is whether circumcision should be performed with Local Anesthesia or General Anesthesia.
2 - Circumcision is a surgical procedure in which the feeling of pain can be completely eliminated with Local Anesthesia.
3- An important advantage is that the drugs used in Local Anesthesia are much more innocent than those used for general anesthesia.
4- Applying General Anesthesia requires many extra risks and additional procedures. Before General Anesthesia; It requires many blood tests and consultation procedures.
5- In General Anesthesia, the need for hospitalization due to the necessity of being in the hospital and the child being separated from his/her family during this period due to the operating room conditions are disadvantages.
However, general anesthesia should be more preferred in older age children with phobias or additional surgical conditions and diseases.
