Botox and Hyperhidrosis Treatment

1) Sweating (Hyperhidrosis); is a physiological event, that is, excessive sweat production. This situation can seriously affect the quality of life. It may be due to the diseases the individual has, or it may occur without any cause.

Treatment options; traditional (antiperspirant treatments, iontophoresis, medications) approaches, botulinum toxin injection, lasers and surgical treatments. Treatment should be completely tailored to the individual and given jointly.

2)Botulinum Toxin,This toxin produced by a bacterium was first used in the treatment of strabismus. Today; It is used in the treatment of wrinkles, in people with teeth clenching problems, in people with thickened masseter muscle and Asian face shape, in patients with complaints of excessive sweating and in many other dermatological diseases.

For sweating purposes it can be done once a year in individuals who complain of sweating under the arms, palms, soles of the feet, only on the scalp or only on the face, and in individuals with oily skin problems.

Masseter botox; It can also be applied to individuals with complaints of headaches due to teeth grinding, teeth deterioration and even breakage, or individuals with a wide Asian face shape. This application, which first came into our lives with the application of botox to a brain-damaged patient suffering from bruxism, was approved by the FDA in 2001. Administration dose; It varies depending on the individual's gender, face shape or masseter muscle mass. After the application, there may be slight weakness or asymmetry in chewing foods such as nuts and whole apples. It should be remembered that this is temporary and will pass over time. In cases where masseter botox application is not sufficient (this is the common opinion of some maxillofacial surgeons), botulinum toxin can be applied to both the masseter and temporal muscle regions to prevent the temporomandibular joint from being affected.
