There are no problems such as arches, curvatures or depressions in the bone roof of the nose, but only problems arising from the cartilage and soft tissues at the tip of the nose, which we call the tip area (drooping nose tip, high nose tip, excessively upturned nose tip, nose tip width, nose base width, nose tip area). It is a minor plastic surgery procedure performed when there is asymmetry in the tip and nostrils.
During the preliminary consultation before the surgery, photographs of the patient are taken from 6 different angles and it is evaluated whether he is suitable for tipplasty. Accompanying central roof or bone roof problems are excluded. Planning is made with the patient as to what the new nose tip shape will be like and the decision is made accordingly. It can be performed both as a single area or together with deviation surgery, which is a functional surgical procedure.
It can be performed under both local and general anesthesia. Processing time is between 30-60 minutes.
It is an aesthetic operation that can be performed with open or closed technique. In the closed technique, there is no incision made at the tip of the nose; the incision is made on the invisible inner wall of the nose and self-dissolving stitches are used. For this reason, there is no stitch removal and there are no stitch marks. There is no need to use tampons and splints. Just supporting the tissues with appropriate taping is sufficient.
Since no intervention is made to the bone roof, there is no bruising.
Patients can be discharged on the same day and return to their social and work lives from the 2nd day. On the 7th day, the patches are removed and it is recommended to apply cream into the nose. The nose takes its final shape in approximately 3-6 months.
