Nutrition and Diet Specialist Nilşah Karakurt, expressing the importance of children who have become accustomed to home-cooked meals and nutrition during the summer holidays, to continue a balanced diet at school, shared the important points of preparing a complete lunch box for children.
Underlining that a balanced diet during the day and especially breakfast is the golden meal that affects both health and school success for children, Nutrition and Diet Specialist Nilşah Karakurt gave the following recommendations:
1- Create a Breakfast Habit
Although breakfast is the most important meal of the day, children often eat it early. When they wake up, they have no appetite and this meal is skipped. In this case, to prevent leaving home hungry and skipping breakfast, you can encourage children to drink nuts such as almonds, walnuts, hazelnuts, dried fruits such as dried apricots and dates, and a glass of milk. You can also choose a portion of fruit and kefir according to your child's liking. However, when morning habits return to normal, a protein-rich breakfast containing eggs and cheese should be eaten. You can also prepare nutritious hash browns so that your child does not get bored after consuming the same food all the time.
